Paul was born in London, Ontario and grew up just east of London on a farm in the former North Dorchester Township (now Thames Centre).  He attended the University of Guelph from 1977 to 1979 and obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1982 from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.

Paul was hired as an articling student by Cram & Associates in the summer of 1982 and his legal career with the firm evolved from there.  Paul has been the managing partner of the firm since 1995.  His practice focuses on wills and estates, corporate and commercial as well as real estate financing and conveyancing.  Paul’s clientele ranges from first time home buyers to large scale business and agricultural corporations.

Paul currently serves on a variety of boards and committees including the board of directors of Middlesex Mutual Insurance Co., an Ilderton, Ontario, based mutual insurance company owned and operated by its policyholders.  He is the president of the Dorchester Dolphins Junior Hockey Club which operates a Jr. D hockey team in Dorchester, Ontario.  He recently served on the Thames Centre Recreational Facilities Expansion Advisory Committee which was instrumental in securing financing for and completing the construction of the expanded recreational facilities in Dorchester during 2009-2010.  Paul was recognized as a Thames Centre “Volunteers of the Year” for his tireless dedication to that project.

Athletics continue to play a significant role in Paul’s leisure activities.  He enjoyed a successful varsity basketball career at York University (1982 Ontario Champions) and years as a competitive slo-pitch baseball player.  Paul is currently an active recreational hockey player and an avid golfer.

Paul also enjoys reading, fishing and travelling.  He resides in Dorchester with his wife, Cindy, and their two children.
